Northern Vancouver Island, your gateway to the Rainbeau’s End, is located 200 miles north of Vancouver, and is accessible from Vancouver and southern Vancouver Island by land, sea and air. Street Directions
Turn left in front of the co-op and follow the water for four blocks. Turn right at the blue and white net loft at 13th Street and up one block to 2nd Street. The Rainbeau’s End will be right in front of you, behind the big holly tree. Click here to view a street map with directions for travellers who arrive by foot or car.
By Air
Port Hardy has the closest airport to Malcolm Island. Pacific Coastal Airlines (Phone: 1.800.663.2872) has scheduled flights daily from Vancouver to Port Hardy airport (approximate flight time is 1 hour). Once you've arrived in Port Hardy you can rent a car through Tilden or Budget car rental agencies OR you can hire the airport limousine service Rainbow Taxi (Phone: 250.956.8294) to transport you from the airport to BC Ferry terminal in Port McNeill. Port Hardy is located approximately 45 kms north of Port McNeill. Once in Port McNeill, take the BC Ferry Service to Malcolm Island. Your host will meet you at the dock. For more personalized service, we will provide transportation to and from the airport at a reasonable cost to be specified at the time of reservation.

Regular service via BC Ferries from Port McNeill brings you to the dock in front of the Sointula Co-op Store.
By Sea
Travel north from Vancouver 12 hours by powerboat and moor your vessel at the dock in Sointula. Your host will meet you at this dock and transport you to the Rainbeau’s End.
By Land
The approximate travel time by car from Vancouver to Port McNeill 7 to 8 hours including the ferry ride. Once you reach Vancouver Island travel north on Highway 19 to Port McNeill. You can view a road map of Vancouver Island online at www.hellobc.com/en-CA/Trips/Vancouver-Island.htm. Take the ferry from Port McNeill to Malcolm Island. Your host will meet you at the dock.
